Business idea: AllyHire – Hiring Different Backgrounds

“Diverse organizations will out-think, out-innovate, and outperform a homogeneous organization every single time.” – Alan Lafley

McKinsey’s research shows that gender-diverse companies are 21%, ethnically-diverse ones are 33% more likely to outperform counterparts. [1] With these stats in mind, more companies are trying to hire underrepresented groups (URGs).

However, there are challenges. When people in URGs hire people from similar backgrounds, they often get penalized: “all managers were judged harshly if they hired someone who looked like them, unless they were a white male.” [2] How can we fix this? Meet Allyhire.

Allyhire does two things. First, it offers companies a pool of qualified talent from URGs like Joonko. [3] Second, it anonymizes the resumes (including other candidates) and loads them up to ATSs so that hiring managers screen only based on candidate skills, not backgrounds.

The importance of building diverse organizations is increasing every day because the world is becoming a more and more diverse place. White is becoming a minority in the US. The world is aging. Women are rising. Allyhire offers a solution to companies welcoming this big shift.
