Business idea “J2BD”: Survey Tool for Jobs to Be Done.


As a product manager, you often find customers are using a product in unexpected ways, or even find values from features you’re trying to shut down. The gap between PM and users would be a critical problem in the long term. 


J2BD is a survey tool to identify jobs customers are *really* trying to solve with your product (the concept inspired by the “Jobs to Be Done” framework).

It’s similar to HotJar [1], but more focused on survey features (emails, a dedicated website, response collections) vs just website widget.


There are already plenty of survey tools such as SurveyMonkey and Typeform [2][3] but J2BD differentiates itself with features related to product management.

For example, it could send a simple mockup to users so they can complete their jobs to be done & record videos.

Business Model

J2BD’s business model is a simple monthly/annual subscription (targeting $500 ARR for small companies and $2,000 or more for mid-size companies).

Additionally, it could test monetizing through pay-per-user response and other methods too.
